Camera Shy

As you can tell Sage is much more interested in watching cartoons instead of Mommy having the camera in his face but he at least said a little for the camera.

Bath Time

Here are the girlie's in the bath, I cannot tell you how much the girls love the the tub. Whenever they're in our room they crawl over to the tub and bounce up and down with excitement. Besides saying Mama and Dada, I think bath tub might be their next word.

Dancy Dancy

I decided it would be a good idea to start putting little videos on here of the kids doing cute little things. For starters here is Sydney doing her "Dancy, dancy". Anytime we say dancy dancy or she hears music she shimmy's side to side. She'll even do it while laying down, a little wiggle motion, it's too cute.

Aja & Sydney Turn 1

Two weeks old
Look how tiny they look compared to Aaron
One year later, happy birthday girls!

August 23, 2008 The Girls turned one year old

Happy Birthday baby girls, Mommy and Daddy love you so much! Thank you to all of our wonderful friends and family for celebrating in such a special day for our family. It was a fun day in the sun at the Legacy Villas in La Quinta, we had a blast!

Wow this year has really flown by. After going from a family of three to a family of five just like that means you are double busy. I try to enjoy every minute to it's fullest with my family and friends. I look back at pictures of the girls when they came home. They were five weeks early and had been diagnosed with TTTS (Twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome). Aja weighing in at 3.10 and Sydney at 5.7, which is amazing granted how many complications can arise from TTTS. They were in the NICU Aja 14 days and Sydney 12. Aja just needed to get her weight up and Sydney did have a little bit of a breathing problem and was put on a CPAP machine. They were both amazing and such little fighters.

Then there was the nasty colic and gripe water, dark Karo syrup, gentelease formula and the sound of the vacuum standing upright and running was the only things that seemed to help sooth our poor babies from being so uncomfortable. I would feel guilty with the constant bottle propping because I still had a toddler to take care of that needed my attention. Aaron was home with me for three months, a month while on bed rest in the hospital before the delivery and two months after the girls came home. He was my saving grace, I couldn't have done it without him and thank God to have him as my husband. There was never any hesitation and he stepped right up to the plate with our new expanded family of five.

Since then Aja and Sydney have grown and become two different little individuals. I am so blessed and cannot say it enough. They are crawling I like to call it speed crawling and pulling themselves up on everything and will be walking in no time soon. They fight with one another pull barrettes out of each others hair, steal toys away from one another, oh yes, girls and sibling rivalry.

When I look at all three of our children's faces and see nothing but genuine love, happiness and complete trust it melts my heart . I think all of those sleepless nights, feeling drained and like we were the only ones going though this, the loading three kids in and out of the car to run a simple errand, was all and still is so worth every minute of it. They'll only be this little for so long and I want to savior every minute of it, the good and not so good some days. They have made me a better person and they have taught me and will continue to teach me so much. I can only hope that when they're old enough one day, they will never for a moment question how much Aaron and I love them and remember us always being there for them.

Going Blog Crazy

Sage with Yolanda reading the Very Hungry
Caterpillar, one of his favorites.

So today I am trying to get everyone up to date as to where all the kiddos are. Hence the tons of blogs in one day, playing a little catch up, wished I would have started one of these sooner. Better late than never, right?

So Sage has been seeing Ms. Yoli (Yolanda) since he was 2 years old. She is with the Creative Home Programs for children. She comes to the house every Tues. for one hour to play and interact with Sage doing activities of all shorts. We noticed around the time Sage was a little over one and a half that he wasn't saying as much as other children, speech wise. We found out he has a speech delay. He was evaluated and rated off the charts cognitively. The only thing is he's not talking much. His vocabulary consisted of Ma (Mom) Da (Dad) nana (animals) vvroom (the sound anytime he sees a vehicle) and ball. We are proud to say that with in his own time he is now saying, Hi, Mom, Mama, Dad, Dada, ball, bus, choo, choo, Bob, yes, eye. This is huge for us especially since in the beginning he would refuse to even try to say anything out of frustration. I believe in many way's the Lord is teaching us something. Patients for one thing has been huge. Sage was sent to us and we were blessed with him and his sister for a reason and there are many other ways to communicate than verbally. I think being that he was our first child and we had nothing to compare to, we were woried. I love the sound of his little voice and look forward to many more words to come in his time.

Like typical boy's he is obsessed with cars, trucks, buses, trains. He loves watching cartoon's, Max and Ruby, Thomas the train, Pinky Dinky Do, Wubbzy, Franklin, just to name a few of the favorites. He likes to torment his sister's but is quick to give them kisses and hugs. He loves Pb&j sandwiches, carrots, fruit snacks, goldfish, veggie crunchies, turkey dogs, lunchables to name a few. I am so blessed to be Sage's mommy and cannot believe he'll be 3 in December. Everyday with him brings something new to experience.

Mom2Mom

So this past Wednesday was my first day of Mom 2 Mom at Southwest Community Church. The purpose of Mom 2 Mom is to provide a place of renewal that will encourage, support and enrich moms. To equip moms with information that will assist them in being all God wants them to be as wife, mother and friend and to provide a safe and loving environment for our children.

I was so impressed and had an amazing morning. I had the biggest smile on my face when I left. It was so refreshing to be in a place where there was such an outpouring of positive energy. I will be forever grateful to my friend Catherine for introducing me to M2M.

I'm an Aunt!

So it has been a busy summer, that has finally come to and end. One of the things I was able to do was go to Rogers, Ark to see my new nephew! My sister Stephanie gave birth to a healthy 7lbs. 2oz. , 20 in. long baby boy, Zack Cyrus. Stephanie was supposed to be induced on Sept 11 her due date being Sept 12, 2008 and we had planned to fly out Sept 10 to be there for the induction the next day. Zack had ideas of his own, which meant coming a day earlier, so needless to say we missed his birth but were able to spend three days with them after we got there. I am so blessed to be an aunt and cannot wait until Stephanie, Jose and Zack move back to California to be closer to all of us.

Embracing Everyday

Our lives are filled with so much joy. Look at these three beautiful children that we have been blessed with. All of you who are parents know all too well the sad reality of how quickly our children grow. It's a bitter sweet. Sage will be three on December 17, 2008 and Aja and Sydney just turned one August 23, 2008. I cry some days out of nowhere at the simple fact that my children are growing and becoming little individuals (or maybe because I am huge ball of emotion from time to time, that little thing called "being a woman"). Aaron always reminds me that they will always need me. We try to bask in the sunshine of our children's faces everyday, no matter how busy or tired we may get Aaron and I make the conscious decision to enjoy our family and our time together. This blog is intended to keep family and friends up to date on things going on in our lives and to have for the kids to look back on one day. I hope you stop by from time to time and check things out. Enjoy!
