First Haircut

Cousin It

I know, it was way too long

Our baby girls

So the girls have been needing a haircut for quite some time now but of course I've been dragging my feet. It's always so hard when it's their first, their baby hair. Something about it doesn't make them so (baby) anymore. The girls can't seem to keep their hands out of their hair when a bow, headband or hair tie is in it. They take them out all the time and even pull them out of each other's hair. When Sage was about 14 months old I cut his. He sat in the sink in water and played contently while I did it. So instead of taking the girls some where I decided to do it myself again, while they were in the bathtub. Now they look like little, big girls. Again, they grow up way too fast. I only cut bangs, for the obvious ( to get it out of their faces) I won't take anything off of the length for awhile.

First day of Preschool

On our way to school

All set with my Thomas the Train backpack

Walking to class

Heading into class with a big smile

Today was Sage's first day of Preschool! Like I expected we walked up to the class, he hung his little backpack on his assigned hook with his name above it and headed right into the class. I had my camera in hand and snapped a couple of pictures. His teacher Mrs. Moore who the children call Ms. Maria, said " Sage don't you want to give Mommy a hug and a kiss goodbye?" He responded with an, Oh yes! Came and gave me a hug and a kiss and said bye bye Mama. Such a big boy. I then walked to the car a started to cry and called Aaron to tell him the news. It is truly a bitter sweet and we are so proud of our little man. Aaron wished he could have been there and he said he probably would have reacted just like I did. When I picked him up he was so happy and said he had fun. His teacher said he did great and asked for me a few times but did really well. So tomorrow we'll do it again. We look forward to watching Sage blossom and learn. This day has come way too quickly I can't believe it's been three years.

Happy New Year

Heading home after a long day

Living Desert

We were so excited to find out that Aaron had Wednesday and Thursday off for the New Year. Two days to take advantage of doing some family things together and a well deserved break for Aaron after a crazy couple of weeks of work . We decided to take the kids to Hurkey Creek Park in Idyllwild New Years Eve day and then went to play in the snow. I packed a picnic lunch and we had a wonderful day with the kids. Sage loved the snow and had such a blast. The girls still aren't fully walking and I didn't think it would be very nice to let them crawl in the snow, so they watched by the side. Then New Years Day we went to the Living Desert to see the light show, where Sage wanted to stay next to the miniature train set all night. It was a great couple of days together as a family.

Looking back on 2008 I cannot believe how fast this year has come and gone. Sage is three and is starting preschool on Jan. 5th. The girls are 16 months old now, talking and almost fully walking. All three of them change so much every day and remind me how amazing it is to be a Mommy. We've lived in Indio for a year now and love it and have met so many wonderful friends. I became and Aunt and have a precious nephew Zack. I started running and did my first 5k, will be doing a half marathon in February and a full Marathon in May. We've been very involved in our Moms Club and started going to Mom 2 Mom at Southwest Church. I love every minute of every day of my life and thank God for helping me stay true to myself and my family. I find strength in my moments of weakness to remember the Lord doesn't judge me and therefore I shouldn't be so critical of myself and certain things in my life. I'm learning to let things roll of my back more. I'm looking forward to another wonderful new year.
