The Magic School Bus

So lately Sage's obsession has been school buses. Everywhere we go he can spot one from a mile away. Of course that goes along with, dump trucks, trash trucks, UPS trucks, Sunline buses, he's all boy! Plus "bus" is one of Sage's new words that he had began saying. So it was so exciting that today with my Mom's Club we got to go have a tour of the school bus yard. You can imagine how excited Sage was to not only see one up close but get on not one but three different buses, he had such a great time. They started with the oldest and biggest bus on the yard, then the kids got to take the handicap lift onto the small bus and then we got on one of the newer buses that has seat belts. We had such a fun afternoon, it amazing the joy you get as a Mother to see something so simple that makes your child so happy. Can't wait for the girls to get a little bigger and to see what they start expressing interest in.

24 Tips for a better Life

A friend emailed this to me and I thought it was great! Wanted to share...

24 TIPS FOR A BETTER LIFE:

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My purpose is to __________ today.'

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries, wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli, almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king/queen, lunch like a prince/princess and dinner like a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.!!!!

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

14. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words: 'In five years, will this matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything, "ALWAYS!!!!"

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. GOD heals almost everything.

20. However good or bad a situation is, it will change and then change again!!!!

21. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your family and friends will. Stay in touch!!!!

22. Envy is a total waste of time. You already have all you need.

23. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________. Today I accomplished _________.

24. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

GOD Bless YOU!!!!

My baby and Me

Yesterday I went to my girlfriend Keri's home to have our monthly board meeting. Keri and I share the secretarial position together in our Moms Club, yes there's lots to do in a Moms Club! Not just sitting around gossiping. Even though we can still find time to do that in between planning fundraisers, monthly events, the calender and fifty children running around :) it's an amazing group of women and organization. www.momsclubindiolaquinta.com

So while we were there I noticed Aja off to the side with a baby doll. She was holding it to her chest and patting the baby on the back! I couldn't believe how precious it was and at 13 months old,to see that little maternal instinct was adorable. So I thought of their baby dolls they had received for a birthday present that I had put up, I knew I'd have to take them out once we got home. So now Aja and Sydney have their babies in their beds with them and out to play with. The first video was at Keri's house and the second was when we got home.

M2M and JJ Virgin

So this was my second Wednesday at Mom to Mom at Southwest Community Church. Each week along with breakfast and prayer and getting to know some amazing women we always have a guest speaker. This week it was JJ Virgin. JJ Virgin is a nutritionist and the author of “The Art of Losing It.” JJ, whose celebrity clients include Brandon Routh, the star of the blockbuster hit “Superman Returns,” and who has been on Dr. Phil many times had some rather interesting nutrition tips to share with us. www.jjvirgin.com It was a lot of information to take in all at once, I kind of got a little overwhelmed thinking I needed to change my lifestyle but it was nice to see that I was pretty educated on a lot of the things she was talking about. I give Aaron the credit for that. Since Aaron and I have been together, he has been my go-to-guy about what to eat and how to exercise. I feel blessed to have such a health conscious husband that knows how to take care of himself and also keeps that in the best interest of his family as well. Everyone has their opinion on things and I think we all know what we need to do, eat right, exercise and take our vitamins, sounds so easy, right? Not so much, but it definitely jump started my enthusiasm for loosing weight and getting into shape, primarily my eating schedule. With three small children it's not always the easiest thing to stay on a food schedule. It's a lot easier to pick up a string cheese and some crackers or finsh what Sage didn't eat, so I am going to be better about that. So needless to say she gave me the idea to focus on one goal at a time. I'll be running a 5k for Martha's Village on Thanksgiving day so hopefully then I'll get down a few pounds and feel lighter on my feet.

Camera Shy

As you can tell Sage is much more interested in watching cartoons instead of Mommy having the camera in his face but he at least said a little for the camera.

Bath Time

Here are the girlie's in the bath, I cannot tell you how much the girls love the the tub. Whenever they're in our room they crawl over to the tub and bounce up and down with excitement. Besides saying Mama and Dada, I think bath tub might be their next word.

Dancy Dancy

I decided it would be a good idea to start putting little videos on here of the kids doing cute little things. For starters here is Sydney doing her "Dancy, dancy". Anytime we say dancy dancy or she hears music she shimmy's side to side. She'll even do it while laying down, a little wiggle motion, it's too cute.
